India’s 1st Eco-Friendly Debit Card Airtel Payment Bank 1st payment bank launched an eco-friendly debit card for their new and existing customer who had savings bank accounts. This new card is made of Poly Vinyl Chloride (r-PVC) material, which is eco-friendly debit card material against traditional material. As per the report published, each batch produced 50,000 cards with the target of reduction of 350 kgs of carbon emissions, a 43% reduction in hydrocarbon consumption with the contribution of conservation of 6.6 million litres of water.

Speaking at the event, Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Payments Bank said, “We are delighted to introduce our new eco-friendly debit cards, made using recycled PVC. Airtel Payments Bank believes in responsible consumption and production for a sustainable future. These cards demonstrate our support for sustainability and commitment to offering a safe and convenient banking experience. Our goal is to provide India with accessible and inclusive banking, driving positive change in the financial industry and offering our customers a seamless and secure payment experience.”. Launched in January 2017 by Bharti Airtel, one of India’s largest telecom providers, this news is done to promote the ‘Changing the Way’ tagline where they had come up with 2 cards variant .
The “Personalised Classic Card” can be obtained through the Airtel Thanks mobile app and offers rewards like e-commerce benefits up to INR 10,000 and complimentary One Dines experiences in major Indian cities. On the other hand, the “Insta Classic Card,” available at selected banking points, also provides the same e-commerce benefits and free One Dines experiences. Both cards present convenient ways to save money while shopping online and to enjoy dining experiences in popular Indian cities.
