Defence Ministry Acquires Aircraft Ministry of Defence ( MOD) and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signed the contract for the procurement of 2 Dornier Aircraft, for the aim of aerial surveillance capabilities of the Indian Coast Guard ( ICG) for the overall cost of Rs 458 crore.

In the recent contact, HAL and MoD had signed the contract for the procurement of 6 Dornier aircraft for the Indian Air Force ( IAF) at the cost of Rs 667 crore for the indigenous manufacturing sector in aerospace. With advanced equipment such as a glass cockpit, maritime patrol radar, electro-optic infra-red device, and mission management system, the aircraft will be the beneficial beneficiary for Indian Air Force ( IAF). In an official statement, it is said that “The Ministry of Defence signed a contract with HAL for procurement of two Dornier aircraft for Indian Coast Guard (ICG) along with associated engineering support package at an overall cost of ₹ 458.87 crore,”.
