Guwahati Airport is now 1st in the Northeast To Get a ‘Digi Yatra’ Facility

Digi Yatra’ Facility In order to enhance the air travel experience in the Northeastern region of India, Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LBBI) is now the first airport to become a ‘Digi Yatra‘ facility. This Digi Yatra is introduced in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation, where at the airport it is available in 3 key zones including the primary entrance, check-in counters, and boarding areas, where queues had become less reducing the time and effort required for check-in and security procedures.

What is the Digi Yatra Facility?

Digi Yatra Facility used facial recognition tech which replace the needs of the traditional methods of ticket verification and ID checks at various touchpoints within the airport premises. In the facility, no personally identifiable information (PII) is stored, and all passenger data is encrypted and secured within their smartphone wallet.  DigiYatra uses facial recognition technology at the terminal entry and security clearance at the airport with the decentralised mobile-based ID storage platform where passengers digitally save their ID and travel documents.
