BRICS included new members in the organisation

BRICS Includes Argentina, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and Egypt with the present members of  Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa just making the membership bigger than before when President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, the host nation of the recent BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) summit welcomed it. Coined by Goldman Sachs chief economist Jim O’Neil, the acronym coined it.

15th BRICS held at  South Africa’s Johannesburg from 22-24 August due to its growing influence, increased their bloc’s membership as 22 countries had applied for this group. With the present membership of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa with the new membership of Argentina, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and Egypt included. As per data released from Acorn Macro Consulting, a British economic research firm, the BRICS group will make up 41% of the global population and account for 16% of world trade, now contributing about a quarter of the global GDP.
