Export duty on parboiled rice India had imposed a 20% export duty on par-boiled rice ( (rice partially boiled with husk)as a measure of ensuring that rice prices remain under the control of local consumers & to control overall inflation effective till the next consignment at zero duty until 15 October.

As per the notification of the finance ministry on Friday, India has implemented a 20% export duty on parboiled rice,s in the wake of an earlier prohibition on shipping non-basmati white rice and broken rice, which was announced previously in September 2022. India the world’s largest exporter of grain, had put a tariff to make parboiled rice expensive for foreign buyers, and to limit its overseas sales and boost domestic availability. 

 Zero duty until 15 October.
