Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman had invited the strategic partnerships between HSBC India and prominent institutions, namely the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF). with the grant support of  ₹15 crores ($2 million) for pioneering innovation for a sustainable future while accelerating innovation in the realm of green hydrogen, striving the reduction of its carbon footprint and make significant strides in the fight against climate change. HSBC India had entered strategic partnerships with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and the Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (SSEF) in the union budget for 2021-22.
