India’s First Hydrogen Bus drives 1st at Leh, situated in the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh

India’s First Hydrogen Bus NTPC Limited, a prominent Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) operating under the Ministry of Power (MoP) started the 1st hydrogen bus dries into Leh, situated in the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh. To fuel the NTPC had established an expensive solar plant with a capacity of 1.7 MW, which will function at the elevation of 11,562 feet.

Dr Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to LG Ladakh stated the bus service to the Union Territory of Lakdakh where a trial run of Hydrogen-fuelled buses started in Ladakh, with the inauguration of the Energy Hub (Petrol Pump) established by Sindhu Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO) at SIDCO Transport Depot, New Bus Stand in Leh. With this initiative, the Ladhkh ministry started the Electric Vehicle and Allied Infrastructure Policy, where under this for the adoption of the 2-wheeler, 3 wheeler and four wheelers the government will provide a capital subsidy of 10 per cent with a heavy subsidy of 25 per cent on public buses
