Central Water Commission (CWC) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti launched the mobile application “FloodWatch”

 FloodWatch  Central Water Commission (CWC) under the Ministry of Jal Shakti initiated the mobile application “FloodWatch”  for the purpose of real-time flood monitoring provides up-to-date flood situations across the country through utilising near real-time river flow data from various sources to enhance accuracy. Through the app, the user can check CWC Flood Forecast (24 hours) or Flood Advisory (7 days) for user safety.

Shri Kushvinder Vohra,  Chairman, of the Central Water Commission (CWC) launched the mobile application named FloodWatch aims at providing information on flood situations and forecasts for up to 7 days on a real-time basis, where information is available in 2 languages, viz. English and Hindi. The key feature of the app includes real-time flood monitoring, checking up-to-date flood situations of the flood through location selection where users can check the flood advisory at the station nearest to them on the Home Page itself. This app utilizes advanced technologies such as satellite data analysis, mathematical modelling, and real-time monitoring to deliver accurate and timely flood forecasts to users where the data can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play store.
