Reliance Jio connects Maldives with High-Speed Optic Fibre cable

Reliance Jio Indian telecommunications major, Reliance Jio had come to Maldives countries with their service of telecommunication with the ceremony held at Hulhumale in Maldives on Friday. With a project cost of 22.5 million. this connection will originate in Mumbai and connects to Singapore, with more than 200 Tera byte per second with speeds of 100Gb/s, over a distance of 16,000 kilometres, in collaboration with Ocean Connect Maldives.

The Jio IAX project or  India-Asia-Xpress (IAX) is a submarine cable network connecting Mumbai and Chennai to Singapore and connecting the India-Europe-Xpress (IEX) in Mumbai. It is 12 cable landing stations across five nations, with branches in Matara (Sri Lanka), Satun (Thailand), and Morib (Malaysia), in addition to the main trunk from Tuas (Singapore) to Mumbai, built by Reliance Jio Infocomm
