Lt Gen Mu Nair (3rd National CyberSercuity Coordinator of Indian Army)

Lt Gen Mu Nair GOI had appointed Lt Gen M U Nair as the new National CyberSercuity Coordinator (NCSC) who will take the role of the  28th Signal Officer-in-Chief.

Who was Lt Gen Mu Nair?

He is the recipient of the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and the Sena Medal, where he will be succeeding Lt Gen ( retd) Dr Rajesh Pant and Gulshan Rai as the third cyber security chief of India. With that, he has been entrusted with an additional director general, head of signal intelligence, and chief of staff of crops. and command, where he had extensive knowledge of both domestic and international communication and information technologies, signal intelligence and cyberwarfare. Additionally, he is incremental in developing an action plan to counter cyber attacks as National Cyber Security Coordinator, assuming the safety of critical data and systems of numerous industries.

About the National CyberSercurity Coordinator

The position of the National CyberSercuity Coordinator, which comes under the National Security Council Secretariat, plays a crucial point in coordinating with centre-level agencies on the matter of national and domestic security concerning cybersecurity. NCSC is entrusted with monitoring communication metadata, providing valuable inputs to law enforcement agencies for the investigation of potential threats. At present, NCSC is an active participant in the National Cyber Security Reference Framework (NCRF) which is in the pipeline.
