State Bank of India 68th Anniversary On the date of the 1st July 2023, State Bank of India celebrates its 68th Bank Day in the city of Chandigarh, with a Circle level staff cultural programme at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18, Chandigarh.

On the occasion of Bank Day, Sh. Vinod Jaiswal, Chief General Manager, Chandigarh Circle was a chief dignitary, along with Staff members from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & UTs of J&K, Ladakh and Chandigarh in the Circle. At the end of the celebration honourable guest lectured regarding the importance of maintaining the values of glorious heritage of Banking by SBI in its over 200-year journey. Inaugurated in the year 1806, the Bank of Calcutta was formed which was one of three presidency banks in British India, the other two being the Bank of Bombay and the Bank of Madras. After the nationalisation process, SBI at present had over 24,000 branches and over 50,000 ATMs across India, with a presence in over 30 countries around the world.
