Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak due to colon and liver cancer,  at the age of 49. Heath Streak is the all-time leading wicket-taker in Test cricket, having taken 216 wickets at an average of 28.14. He scored 1990 runs at an average of 22.35 in Test matches. In One Day Internationals (ODIs), he claimed 239 wickets at an average of 29.82 and scored 2,943 runs at 28.29.

 Zimbabwe’s official Twitter account paid tribute to their former captain and coach Heath Streak “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family, friends, and fans of former (Zimbabwe) captain Heath Streak. His contributions to cricket will always be remembered, and he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.” Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak had been a record wicket-taker in both Test cricket – with 216, the only Zimbabwean player to reach 3 figures – and one-day internationals with 237 scalps, again more than 100 clear of the field. Heath Streak took seven five-wicket Test hauls and another in a 1997 ODI against India. Heath Streak also still stands seventh in their list of Test run-scorers with 1,990.
