Knowledge Hub and Assam Institute of Urban Affairs The Assam government has established the Knowledge Hub and Assam Institute of Urban Affairs which will provide urban planning and expertise for the same to the government for urbanisation while the knowledge hub will work as a collaborator between Assa and successful urban planning models inspired from Gujarat and Telangana. It is modelled as Gujarat and the National Institute of Urban Affairs in New Delhi, where it will focus on enhancing skills for officials in the Urban Affairs Department elected representatives and municipal officials

Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Ashok Singhal unveiled the Knowledge Hub and Assam Institute of Urban Affairs, set to bring the latest urban planning concepts and expertise for modernising Assam. For this purpose, Minster Ashok Singhal established the Urban Planning Cell of the Directorate of Town and Country Planning, where the state will establish a state-of-the-art GIS Geo Hub that provides its expertise.
