The Union government launched the draft of the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2023 during the monsoon season, launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The central government received  21,666 suggestions for the draft bill that have been circulated for comments in November 2022. Digital Personal Data Protection Bill 2023 is one of 4 proposed legislations in the IT and Telecom sectors to provide the framework for better secured India, where it empowers the  Data Protection Board (DPB) to levy a penalty of up to Rs.250 crore on the organizations found to be in breach, where all online and offline data will fall under the legal domains of this bill.
