Swachh Survekshan (SS) 2023 The Indian government had initiated the  8th edition of the world’s largest urban Swachhata survey, Swachh Survekshan 2023  with the logo of #MeraSheharMeriPehchan under the guidance of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Under this programme or survey, nearly 3,000 assessors will be employed who will do a study on  4500+ cities across 46 indicators and it is expected to be completed within a month.

What this programeme entails?

Initiated in the year of  2016, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) launched the world’s largest urban sanitation and cleanliness survey under this survey, the SS 2023 there is weightage of the pre-determined indicator where additional is provided to source segregation of waste, enhancement of waste processing capacity of cities with the emphasise on reduction of plastic, plastic waste processing, encourage waste to wonder parks and zero waste events. In addition, the SS access the cities under ‘Open Urination’ (Yellow Spots) and ‘Open Spitting’ (Red Spots)
