The Wrestling Federation of India membership got suspended on the world stage

Wrestling Federation of India The Indian Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) governing body of India for wrestling got suspended by United World Wrestling (UWW), as a consequence of ongoing controversies and prolonged delays in conducting due investigation. Due to this suspension, the Indian wrestlers will not compete under the Indian flag in the upcoming World Championships, instead, they will participate as ‘neutral athletes’ in the Olympic-qualifying World Championships.

In the recent update of sport news the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has been suspended by the sport’s world governing body due to ongoing controversy and not holding elections after its chief was charged with sexual misconduct. The scandal involved 66-year-old WFI President Brij Bhushan Singh who had been charged with sexual harassment and stalking and is currently free on bail. Regarding this  United World Wrestling  released the statement “The absence of a regularly elected president and a board does not comply with the UWW regulations and the conditions for membership,
