Indian Railways & IIT-Madras ink MoU for 5G The Ministry of Railways and the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) signed a memorandum of understanding ((MoU) to establish the India 5G technology, at the Indian Railway Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunications (IRISET) in Secunderabad. In the presence of Sudhir Kumar its Director-General and Prof. Manu Santhanam Dean, IC & SR, IIT (M), signed the MOU between IRISET and IIT-Madras for 5G technology.

A 5G is jointly developed by IIT-Kanpur; Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER) under MeitY; IIT-Bombay; Centre of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWiT), as part of the project funded by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for of eight institutes. This project will serve as a cutting-edge facility to conduct comprehensive trials of 5G-enabled applications, with the creation of new avenues for collaboration between academia and industry. The MoU was signed at IRISET in the presence of Sudhir Kumar its Director-General and Prof. Manu Santhanam Dean, IC & SR, IIT (M).
