Viacom18 completed the merger of JioCinema and Voot OTT Platform

JioCinema merged Viacom18 completing the merger of 2 OTT platforms JioCinemma Premium with the Voot OTT platform, as a merger. Now the merger will enable the user to switch from Voot to their Viacom18-owned platform, where Voot Originals such as Asur 2 and Bigg Boss OTT have already premiered on JioCinema over the past few months.

Launched in 2014, Viacom 18 is merged with telecom giant Reliance where this integration will bring content for both users with Universal Television, UCP, Universal International Studios, Universal Television Alternative Studio, Sky Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures, Focus Features and Bravo to JioCinema. At present, viewers had access to 1st-run series including Young Rock with Dwayne Johnson action thriller The Lazarus Project; and romantic comedy The Lovers, with  Peacock Originals including Bel-Air, Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin and The Calling with Downton Abbey, Suits, The Office, Parks and Recreation and The Mindy Project. At present, Viacom-18 owns the streaming rights to Indian Premier League cricket. In past, Viacom18 had come into partnership with  Murdoch and Shankar’s Bodhi Tree Systems with a planned investment of  US$1.78 billion to US$528 million
