Archaeological Survey of India launched “Adopt a Heritage 2.0 programme” Indian Heritage app  on September 4, 2023

Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Programme 2023 Recently the ASI unveiled the “Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Initiative,” Introducing the Indian Heritage Mobile Application and E-Permission Portal, whose purpose is to preserve and enhance India’s rich cultural heritage and its invaluable cultural legacy, on September 4, 2023, at the Samvet Auditorium, IGNCA, New Delhi. This programme is a digital showcase of India’s rich heritage monuments & provides state-wise details of monuments, accompanied by photographs, a list of available public amenities, geo-tagged locations, and a feedback mechanism for citizens. At the event, Union Minister of State for Culture Meenakshi Lekhi, Union Culture Secretary Govind Mohan and Director General of ASI, K. K. Basa, were present at the occasion.

Union Minister of Tourism G Kishan Reddy integrated the Adopt a Heritage 2.0 Programme which aims at fostering collaboration with corporate stakeholders entrusted with developing, providing, and maintaining amenities in hygiene, accessibility, safety, and knowledge categories, with dedicated web portal, accessible at www.indianheritage.gov.in. At present, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has 3696 monuments under protection, which are spread, throughout the country, They exhibit both the rich cultural heritage of India while playing a significant role in fostering economic growth
