Ministry had implemented the ‘Naya Savera’ or ‘Free Coaching and Allied’ scheme

‘Naya Savera’ or ‘Free Coaching and Allied’ Scheme Ministry of Minority Affairs had implemented the Naya Savera Scheme (also known as the ‘Free Coaching and Allied’ scheme) to provide education to students, belonging to six minority communities including  Sikh, Jain, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi by way of special coaching for qualifying examinations, where this scheme was implemented through Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs). The duration of the coaching period under the scheme was from 3 months to 2 years depending upon the coaching programme allocated to the PIAs. As per the scheme, more than 1.19 lakh beneficiaries have been identified of which  12,155 beneficiaries were from the state of Andhra Pradesh alone

The scheme’s objective is to provide compromised coaching to students of Sikh, Jain, Muslim, Christian, Buddhist and Parsi in the following areas:-

  1. Preparing for qualifying examinations for admission into technical/professional courses like engineering, medical, law, management, information technology, etc., and language/aptitude examinations required for seeking admission to foreign universities.
  2. Assisting with competitive examinations for recruitment to Group ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ services, as well as other equivalent positions under the Central and State governments, including public sector undertakings, banks, insurance companies, and autonomous bodies.

What is the coaching scheme for the minority community?
