PM Modi had launched a new type of Urea called “Urea Gold”

Urea Gold for Farmers In a recent visit to Sikar, Rajasthan, PM Modi initiated a new type of Urea for farmers called “Urea Gold”, coated with sulphur with the aim of improving soil quality and reducing the expenses of farmers of the state. Urea Gold is considered to be more economical and efficient than neem-coated urea, with the insurance of nitrogen use efficiency, reducing consumption and enhancing crop quality., where  15kg of Urea Gold provides comparable benefits to 20kg of conventional urea. In order to double the income of the farmer, PM Modi has released the 14th instalment of the PM-KISAN Scheme and inaugurated a slew of projects in the poll-bound state. with onboarded 1,500 FPOs on Open Network for Digital Communication (ONDC). PM Modi also dedicated 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs).

What is “Urea Gold”?

Urea Gold is a new variety of urea coated with sulphur introduced by PM Modi, with the aim of reducing sulphur deficiency in soil and saving input costs for farmers, increasing existing neem-coated urea in terms of economic viability and efficiency Urea Gold contains humic acid, extending its lifespan as a fertilizer and reducing overall fertilizer usage. One of the significant events is that 15 kg of Urea Gold provides similar benefits to 20 kg of conventional urea, making it more efficient for farmers. On the other hand, neem-coated urea is a specialized form of urea fertilizer coated with neem oil. The neem coating slows down nitrogen release into the soil, reducing nitrogen leaching and volatilization, thereby improving nitrogen use efficiency by plants. This leads to a decrease in the quantity of urea needed per acre and a reduction in input costs for farmers. Moreover, the use of neem oil helps lower the emission of nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas, and benefits from the natural pesticidal properties of neem, derived from the neem tree (Azadirachta indica).
